Join us on September 18th from 6:30-7 PM to learn from Lateefah Torrence of our Mental Health Project!
MHP fights to disrupt and dismantle cycles of hospitalization, homelessness, and incarceration by providing direct legal and social work services and promoting systemic change through litigation, legislation, and community education! Torrence will share the project’s history, what it’s been doing to support and fight for clients, and update us on the current state of our New York City mental health crises.
Are you interested in making change, meeting people, and learning about New York City – but always too busy for big time commitment volunteer projects? Then our Justice Initiators (JI) is perfect for you!
JI meetings happen in the evenings, typically on the third week of every month. Each meeting entails exclusive access to a Q&A session with one of our social justice leaders, giving JI members unique insight into today’s most urgent social justice issues.
JI works in conjunction with our Young Professional Board (YPB), a more highly engaged group of professionals working to achieve the goals of the UJC.
No application necessary. Simply enter your email in the form to the right to receive the monthly Zoom link for our meetings. Feel free to bring friends or coworkers!
If you can, any sustained, monthly donation (suggested: $25/month, but no gift is too large!) is appreciated to support our work.
