The Peter Cicchino Youth Project (PCYP) at the Urban Justice Center has an exciting and rare opportunity for a leader with vision and passion for representing LGBTQ+ youth. PCYP has been a potent force for LGBTQ+ youths for over three decades and is ready to enter a new and exciting chapter under new leadership that can reinvigorate and direct the Project moving forward.
At the UJC, Project Directors have the freedom to determine the Project’s goals, missions, and methods. They hire the staff and direct the project on a day-to-day basis. The Project Director position at PCYP offers an opportunity for someone to come in and effectuate their own vision consistent with the historical work and mission of the Project.
PCYP seeks a Project Director to rebuild the project from the ground up, starting as a team of one and then, budget permitting, adding attorneys, advocates, and social workers to fulfill PCYP’s mission. The ideal candidate has the ability to envision and then implement plans to reinvigorate PCYP; to support project-wide collaboration; and to set, refine, and communicate program goals.
The Project Director will use their creativity and passion to prepare PCYP for the future, including hiring, fundraising, budgeting, communications, grants management, and program development.
The ideal candidate will be an energetic, dynamic, and creative individual who has a demonstrated commitment to social justice work and the skills to build an organization from the ground floor.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Adept at using new media tools to forward advocacy agendas;
- Passion, creativity, and willingness to take chances to effectuate innovative change;
- A law degree is preferred, but not required.
Salary and Compensation:
