Job Short Description:

The Domestic Violence Project at the Urban Justice Center seeks a highly motivated individual to fill DVP’s Hotline Volunteer. The applicant should demonstrate a commitment and interest in non-profit work and helpings survivors of domestic violence receive access and guidance towards beneficial legal and clinical services.

Job Summary & Qualifications:

Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills

Excellent organizational and time-management skills

Excellent communication skills

Ability to act independently with strong motivation

Demonstrated commitment to social justice and issues that domestic violence survivors face

Previous experience in managing hotline a plus


Answer and manage hotline phone calls/ service inquiries during business hours (Mon – Fri, 9 am – 5 pm)

Provide thorough referrals to connect clients with other services

Maintain caller confidentiality during intake process


This is an unpaid volunteer position.

Our mission at the Domestic Violence Project (DVP) is to help victims of domestic violence and their children live free of violence and abuse. We consider domestic violence in any type of relationship, regardless of gender or sexual identity, to be a human rights violation.
