The Domestic Violence Project at the Urban Justice Center seeks a highly motivated individual to fill DVP’s Hotline Volunteer. The applicant should demonstrate a commitment and interest in non-profit work and helpings survivors of domestic violence receive access and guidance towards beneficial legal and clinical services.
Job Summary & Qualifications:
Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Excellent communication skills
Ability to act independently with strong motivation
Demonstrated commitment to social justice and issues that domestic violence survivors face
Previous experience in managing hotline a plus
Answer and manage hotline phone calls/ service inquiries during business hours (Mon – Fri, 9 am – 5 pm)
Provide thorough referrals to connect clients with other services
Maintain caller confidentiality during intake process
This is an unpaid volunteer position.
