Sara Solfanelli

Sara Solfanelli is the Chief Operating Officer & General Counsel of the Urban Justice Center.  She started her career as the Director of International Programs at Women’s Campaign International, a non-profit dedicated to empowering women in emerging democracies.  After law school, while in private practice, she helped start Foundation Rwanda, where she remains a Director.  She also served as a global HR director when living in London and she returned to NYC as SVP on the in-house legal team for the world’s largest marketing and communications network.  Sara is a founding Board member of Stand Up! Girls, a nonprofit organization that works to inspire and empower girls from underserved communities by teaching them how to create and perform stand-up comedy.  Sara also volunteers for the GO Project, which provides programming and support to children in lower Manhattan.


The Social Justice Accelerator awards chosen applicants and opportunity and resources to develop their social justice initiatives.
