Domestic Violence

The Domestic Violence Project (DVP) seeks to provide comprehensive services to all of our clients. Any individual seeking assistance is provided a full clinical assessment. This initial inquiry may consist of a request for general information or may translate into a referral; however the majority of inquiries result in more complex needs that require our complete attention. In these instances, we provide immediate and on-going crisis counseling, and facilitate support groups focused on empowerment and stress reduction. We continue to provide on-going moral support to our clients as he or she faces the challenges of the legal forum. Where appropriate, we collaborate with mental health service providers. DVP interfaces with numerous social service agencies to assist the client in accessing available services.

In a typical month,

  • 335 clients receive ongoing comprehensive clinical support & consultation
  • 200 calls to the DVP Hotline, the majority of who become clients
  • 165 clients receive ongoing direct counseling
